Hands Off! Protest in South Bend, IN

On April 19th in downtown South Bend, Indiana hundreds gathered for the "Hands Off!" rally. This event was part of a nationwide movement protesting the recent executive orders and decisions made by Donald Trump's administration. The rally, organized by the Michiana Alliance for Democracy, is the second within two weeks that drew a diverse crowd passionate about various issues, including immigrant and LGBTQ+ rights, environmental concerns, and the protection of public services and democratic institutions.

The atmosphere was charged with energy and determination as demonstrators marched, holding signs and chanting slogans like "No fear, no hate, no ICE in our state." The mile-long route was filled with participants, far exceeding the 600 RSVPs initially received. This overwhelming turnout highlighted the community's strong desire to voice their opposition to policies they believe are harmful.
